Whitepaper - The Path to Successful Teams

How do teams become successful? The most commonly used method for characterizing the different personalities within a team is Belbin's team roles.

What makes teams successful? Belbin's team roles are the most widely used method for categorizing the different personalities in a team. Belbin identifies 9 types of 'office personalities' based on their behavior in the workplace. When we compare Belbin's team roles with motivation theory, it becomes apparent that some of Belbin's types are based on the same underlying motivation: for example, the Implementer and the Completer Finisher exhibit characteristics of the blue drive (a desire for order, structure, reliability, and discipline). It's often the case that a team doesn't function optimally because some members aren't aligned with the desired direction. A Profile Dynamics® team analysis offers insight into the dynamics between individual team members. The team analysis also indicates whether the tasks and roles of team members align with their underlying motivations, and how the team can best divide responsibilities. The degree to which a team is successful is determined by a complex interplay of various factors. If you leave your details, you will receive the download link in your inbox.
